About Phil McCoy

PJM Insurance was established in 2009, working in partnership with Aon UK Limited as an Appointed Representative. Phil and his team have developed longstanding relationships with small to medium sized businesses across a variety of trades and industries, bringing knowledge, advice, and a personal service to corporate clients throughout the UK.

Based out of offices in Surrey and Glasgow, the team consists of Phil McCoy, John Murray and Grace Heath. Phil, John and Grace are assisted by experienced Aon colleagues based in the Glasgow office, Rachel Patullo, Lewis Wilson and Lorraine McKenzie.

In addition to their diverse SME portfolio, Phil, John and Grace administer the insurance programmes for larger National and International clients, managing their more complex insurance and risk management needs, engaging with Aon’s global network to achieve this.

PJM’s areas of specialism include, Healthcare, Technology, Global Recruitment, Financial Institutions, Television, Marketing, Charities, Education, Real Estate, and IT.

Phil’s 25-year insurance career began at Royal & Sun Alliance, underwriting property and packages before broadening his knowledge to include professional liabilities, construction, motor trade, and fleet through RSA’s training programme.
In 2000, Phil turned to Broking with a move to Sutton Winson servicing predominantly SME clients. It is here that Phil widened his broking specialisms to include film and media insurance, placing all lines of business including property damage and liability, cancellation & abandonment and a number of specialist covers, including death & disgrace, non-appearance and Adverse Weather.
Joining Aon UK Limited in 2006, Phil took on a Client Manager role that saw him provide full risk management for a portfolio of clients based largely in London and the South of England; many of which remain clients of PJM to this day. In 2010 Phil became Aon UK Limited’s first Appointed Representative.

Phil’s client range is incredibly diverse and ranges from large blue-chip clerical organisations to manufacturing distribution and even a couple of established UK vineyards.

Working with Aon

Clients are at the heart of our business and we aim to bring the best of Aon to our customers.

This means being responsive to your needs, understanding changes in your business, evaluating new risks that emerge and providing Aon risk and insurance solutions.

Because we work with a variety of insurance companies, we have a broad and up to date understanding of what is on offer. The relationship developed with your broker will continue to serve you well over time. Your needs can change as your business grows and changes, and new policy options become available from insurers, so an annual review becomes an important tool to stay on top of your insurance requirements.

Commercial Insurance

Aon has the experience to help you understand your business risks. We are able to talk you through new and developing risks such as cyber-attacks and reputational damage, and what they could mean to you.

We will conduct a thorough review of your whole insurance programme and design an insurance portfolio that is individual to you. As your insurance advisor I will be a single point of contact for you throughout your relationship with Aon. This means that I will also be on hand to provide claims support when required.

Claims Support

If you are in a position to make a claim, we want to be able to support you every step of the way. Here is some information that will help speed up the claims process:

  • Even if you’re not sure about a situation that could lead to a claim our team will be able to talk it through with you and work out the best course of action.

  • You should always do what you can to recover lost property, prevent further damage or otherwise minimise the amount of any claim.

  • Don’t get into any discussion or negotiation and don’t admit or deny any claim before speaking to us.

  • If the loss or damage is caused by thieves, vandals or rioters then you should contact the police immediately and get a crime reference number.

  • Take photographic evidence of the loss as soon as possible to record any damage that has occurred.
